One of the greatest classics of science fiction literature, *I, Robot*, written by the Good Doctor, Isaac Asimov, was originally published in 1950. The book served as the basis for the screenplay of the film of the same name, in which Will Smith plays the protagonist, Detective Del Spooner. However, the work is quite different from the story presented on the big screen. *I, Robot* is a collection of nine short stories that recount the evolution of automatons through time. It is in this book that the famous Three Laws of Robotics are presented: the principles that govern the behavior of robots and that definitively changed the perception of them within science itself. *I, Robot* begins with an interview with Dr. Susan Calvin, a roboticist psychologist at US Robots & Mechanical. She is the guiding thread of the work, responsible for recounting her work and also the evolution of automatons. Some stories are lighter and more emotional, such as Robbie, the nanny robot; others, such as Reason, lead the reader to reflect on religion and even on their human condition. This edition includes an afterword written by the author himself about his love affair with robots, which are so common in his work.
