The King of Dividends: The saga of the son of poor immigrants who became the largest individual investor on the Brazilian stock exchange.
The book you hold in your hands is an inspiration for wealth, but not only that: by sharing moments of humor and wit, pain and joy, Barsi gradually reveals himself as he truly is, in all his humanity.
And that's what makes this work an inspiration for us to become, more than just competent investors, better people. Fabio Baroni, Felipe Ruiz and Louise Barsi, founding partners of AGF.
A poor boy, raised alone by his mother in a tenement, Luiz Barsi Filho became a legend in the world of investments.
It didn't happen overnight. He started investing in the late 1960s, went through successive crises and economic plans, and prospered in (almost) all of them.
This was only possible because he created his own way of operating in the market, averse to speculation and supported by a deep understanding of the companies he associates with, always keeping an eye on the dividends paid.
After decades of disciplined work, Barsi became one of the few Brazilian billionaires – the largest individual shareholder of Banco do Brasil and owner of a respectable stake in large conglomerates such as Unipar and Klabin.
At 83 years old, he continues to see opportunities where others see crises and invests every penny in new shares of good companies.
In this autobiography, he lays out his philosophy for those who wish to learn how to invest soundly. And he narrates his personal story to inspire those seeking to overcome adversity and achieve success in the market and in life.
